Our Story

Our Love Story began a few short years ago, but we need to bring it all the way back to when we first met. Over 20 years ago in 7th grade, Jordan had just moved to Texas from Louisiana and would be attending Cinco Ranch Junior High. Christina was a cheerleader for the Cougars, and Jordan was on the football team where he also played with Christina’s twin brother, George. Our paths would eventually cross, and we became good friends. We would stay up late at night talking to each other on AOL Instant Messenger, since this was before text messaging was the cool thing to do. Due to the madness of Katy, Texas expanding Jordan was zoned to attend a different Junior High and High School after 7th grade, so his time there was short, but we remained friends through social media.

As time went on, we didn’t really cross paths in person throughout High School. Christina ended up attending Baylor University and Jordan went to LSU. Fast forwarding to 2014 after college, we both found ourselves back in Houston and living in the city. There was one night in particular where we ran into each other in Midtown, Christina was out with her friends celebrating her birthday. The following day Jordan reached out to Christina on Facebook letting her know it was great running into her, and that we should hangout again sometime soon. Unfortunately, this message was left on read, without a response for 7 years (we’ll come back to that later).

Again, time went on. Jordan ending up moving away from Houston for his job, so we never got the chance to see each other again after that night. Through social media we would see each other progressing in our own respective lives, living it up, and occasionally liking each other’s photos. In the summer of 2021 Christina was visiting Alaska, where her brother had been living for a few years. At this same time, Jordan was also in Alaska where he had been working for a few years on a rotation basis while living back in Houston. He noticed that Christina was there and doing all of the amazing things one should do while visiting Alaska, so he reached out and sent a message to Christina on Instagram. Thankfully, Christina responded to this message, and we ended up exchanging numbers so that we could link up when Jordan was off work and back in Houston. This did however take a few days, since Christina is not the best at texting back sometimes, and Jordan believed he was given the wrong number. Rest assured it was the right number, and eventually we began texting daily.

Once Jordan returned from Alaska, we were able to link up and hangout for the first time. It did not take very long for us to realize that we were each other’s person, and our texts everyday shortly turned into seeing each other in person every chance we could. Our first “official date” was of course Jordan wanting to show off his cooking skills and prepare a steak dinner at home. Unfortunately, this date was eventually interrupted with friends showing up at the house wanting to watch football. We awkwardly (and looking back hilariously) finished eating our amazing steak dinner at the table, while friends were in the living watching football.

As days turned into weeks our bond grew closer and we began dating, it didn’t take very much longer for our “I like you” to turn into “I love you”. Over time we went from our local hanging out in Houston to traveling together. Our first trip was with friends to go skiing in Park City Utah, which was then followed a few months later by a road trip from Phoenix, Arizona to Denver, Colorado. It was on these trips that we realized this is the person I want and need to spend the rest of my life with. It was also on the road trip where Jordan found out that he would be getting a job back in Houston, so no more rotating to Alaska and we would finally be together all of the time. We would eventually move in together and get a dog child together named Pickle. Back to the Facebook message from 7 years ago, we were laying in bed the morning after Christinas birthday dinner and Christina found the message. This is where we realized she had never responded…after 7 years. Well, after little convincing, she finally responded to my message and the rest is history.

At this point it had been around 2 years since we reconnected on Christina’s Alaska visit, and it was time for Jordan to get the approval from Christina’s dad to marry her. We had been in Katy for a pool day and stayed the night, as Albert was cleaning the pool Jordan went out there for the big chat. After Jordan got the approval from Albert, he announced to the family that was inside about our chat, and everyone went crazy. Christina’s sister, Tara, could not wait until after our wedding to add me to the family group text (family rule) and immediately added me on the spot. Jordan was extremely happy and honored to now be in on all of our conversations instead of relying on Christina to tell or show him funny things happening. It was during Jordan’s conversation with Albert that he also told him about surprising us in Europe where Jordan was planning to propose. Christina’s mom afterwards pulled Jordan aside and showed him a diamond that Christina’s Grandfather had left for her. He was able to use this diamond in the ring that he got created for the proposal in Nice, France.
